Grand Opening of “Poti TransTerminal”– Alliance Multimodal Among Key Participants

On June 9, the official grand opening of the multimodal container terminal “Poti TransTerminal” will take place in Poti, Georgia, marking a significant milestone for regional logistics and trade along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR).
The event will be held with the participation of key industry stakeholders, including representatives of Alliance Multimodal.
The terminal is expected to become a key link in the Middle Corridor, enhancing container throughput and creating a seamless logistics cycle between Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia.
Advanced Capabilities and Strategic Importance
With a designed annual capacity of over 80,000 TEU and 120,000 tons of general cargo (including repacking operations), the “Poti TransTerminal” sets a new standard for terminal infrastructure in Georgia.
The terminal is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including:
- 3.3 kilometers of railway tracks (accommodating up to 120 railcars),
- two high-performance gantry cranes,
- modern reach stackers and forklifts,
- a high cargo platform,
- and a full range of operational infrastructure tailored to handle multimodal cargo.
This launch supports the strategic development of international routes by strengthening the logistics network across the South Caucasus and the Caspian region.
Core services
The terminal will offer a broad range of services, including:
- Cargo handling operations (road, rail, and yard),
- Bonded warehousing and secure storage,
- Transshipment between railcars and containers (and vice versa),
- Oversized cargo processing,
- Formation shuttle corridors on the Poti-Alat-Poti, Poti-Absheron-Poti corridors.
