Alliance Multimodal Launches Break-Bulk Express Service

Alliance Multimodal is proud to announce the successful launch and expansion of its Break-Bulk Express Service, a dedicated shipping solution designed to improve the flow of cargo across the Caspian Sea and strengthen the Middle Corridor.

The service connects Kuryk Port in Kazakhstan with the Ports of Baku (Alat) and Hovsan in Azerbaijan, offering exporters and shippers a faster, more predictable route that bypasses bottlenecks and ensures continuity in supply chains.

From pilot project to weekly operation

The Break-Bulk Express Service began in December 2024 as a pilot for a single client. Due to high demand from Kazakh exporters, it quickly evolved into a weekly operation. Since then, the service has already transported over 90,000 tons of break-bulk cargo.

To ensure stable capacity, the service is operated with a 7,500 DWT vessel, MV Nasipkali Marabay, deployed exclusively on this route.

Alliance Multimodal’s role

Alliance Multimodal is at the heart of the project. As a ship agent and port operator in Azerbaijan, we coordinate vessel handling and ensure seamless onward transport from Baku to Türkiye, Georgia, and Europe.

By integrating the Caspian crossing with our multimodal logistics network, we provide clients with:

  • Reduced waiting times at ports
  • Reliable schedules for critical shipments
  • Direct access to regional and European markets
  • End-to-end delivery under one operator

This makes the Caspian not a bottleneck, but a strategic bridge in the Middle Corridor.

Partnership in action

The service is supported in Kazakhstan by Simurg Invest, operator of the Sarzha Terminal in Kuryk. Their port infrastructure complements Alliance Multimodal’s logistics expertise, ensuring stability and efficiency at both ends of the Caspian.

Future development

With demand growing steadily, Alliance Multimodal plans to further scale the Break-Bulk Express Service and expand its scope.

Our goal is to set new standards of speed and reliability, making the Middle Corridor a trusted artery of Eurasian trade.

For our clients, this means one thing: their cargo keeps moving forward — faster, safer, and with the full support of Alliance Multimodal.
