The Black and Caspian Freight Forum 2025 took place in Baku from September 9 to 11, bringing together logistics leaders, industry experts, policymakers, and government representatives from across Eurasia.

Organized by RDL Group, the three-day event provided a unique platform for discussion, knowledge exchange, and collaboration on the future of transport corridors and regional logistics. The Forum’s centerpiece—a conference, exhibition, and B2B networking sessions—was held on September 10, offering participants the opportunity to explore innovative solutions, learn from industry leaders, and forge new business partnerships.

Over the three days, the Forum successfully reinforced its position as a leading gathering for the Black Sea and Caspian transport sector.

This year, Alliance Multimodal supported the event as its General Partner, reflecting the company’s dedication to strengthening connectivity across Eurasia and supporting the development of efficient, resilient trade routes.

As General Partner, Alliance Multimodal played an active role in shaping the agenda, fostering discussions, and demonstrating the practical impact of strategic investments in regional logistics infrastructure.

Opening Session

In the first session, “International Transport Corridors in the Black and Caspian Sea Region – Resilience, Adaptation, and Opportunity,” Alliance Multimodal CEO Natiq Jafarov delivered a presentation on “Azerbaijan as a Key Land-Sea Logistics Hub between Asia and Europe.”

He highlighted ongoing investments in the Port of Baku (Alat Port), railway modernization, and expansion of logistics facilities, emphasizing how these initiatives are enhancing the efficiency, capacity, and reliability of the Middle Corridor as a key trade route connecting Europe and Asia. The session underscored the importance of resilient transport corridors in responding to global supply chain challenges and adapting to evolving trade dynamics.

Panel Discussion: Unlocking the Middle Corridor’s Potential

A key highlight of the Forum was the panel discussion, “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor) – Enhancing Competitiveness and Resilience,” moderated by Natiq Jafarov. The discussion brought together leading representatives from DB Cargo Eurasia, Gosselin Group, NFident GmbH, Sara Logistics, Metro Logistics, GIZ, Transport and Logistics Partnership (TLP), and Absheron Logistics Center.

Panelists explored the Corridor’s current performance, opportunities for growth, and the challenges that must be addressed to unlock its full potential.

The panel demonstrated that unlocking the Middle Corridor’s full potential requires a combination of strategic infrastructure investment, technological innovation, and closer collaboration among stakeholders.

Strategic Impact and Key Trends

The discussions at the Forum highlighted several long-term trends shaping the future of regional logistics:

  1. Middle Corridor Consolidation – The route is evolving from a secondary option into a mainstream artery of Eurasian trade, providing an efficient and competitive alternative to traditional maritime and overland routes.
  2. Infrastructure Development – Investments in ports, railway networks, and Caspian Ro-Ro services are critical for increasing throughput, reducing transit times, and ensuring the Corridor’s competitiveness.
  3. Regional Cooperation – Close coordination among countries along the Corridor is essential for streamlining operations, improving cost-effectiveness, and building resilience across the supply chain.
  4. Digitalization and Innovation – Advanced logistics platforms, real-time tracking systems, and automated procedures are key to increasing efficiency, transparency, and reliability in cross-border transport.

Looking Ahead

Serving as General Partner highlighted Alliance Multimodal’s leadership and active commitment to enhancing regional logistics networks. The discussions, presentations, and collaborative sessions demonstrated that the Caspian and Black Sea regions are entering a new phase of growth, resilience, and competitiveness.

With continued investment, technological advancement, and strategic coordination, the Middle Corridor is set to become an increasingly vital component of Eurasian trade, supporting economic development and strengthening regional connectivity.

The Black and Caspian Freight Forum 2025 successfully showcased the potential of collaborative approaches to logistics, the importance of resilient transport corridors, and the opportunities that arise when governments, industry players, and logistics experts work together toward common goals.
